
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player. She plays as captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the most prestigious level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team along with Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 until 2020. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her degree from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club , and also helped the team win their league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time, and was one of the youngest players on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She finished 2012 with 28 goalsand 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score 20 and 20 goals. It made her the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to reach 20 goals in one season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a key role in helping the United States winning their titles during the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup. She was selected for both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she won the Silver Boot.
