Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American actress and singer is a former model. Kotero is famous for her role as co-star in the film of Prince's Purple Rain and for having been the lead singer of the group of girls Apollonia 6. The actress and singer was christened Apollonia by Prince and became one of a number of female performers in the 1980s to benefit from her association with Prince, the Purple One. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica in California in 1959. Her first professional venture was with modeling in the late 1970s. Kotero also was a guest on CHiPS. As the female protagonist of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance in 1984. Prince changed the girl's name in this period. She replaced Vanity by the female group Vanity 6 who performed in the movie with Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter was not a huge hit for the group, but she had a bigger effect as the duet partner of Prince in Take Me with You on the soundtrack. Kotero's association with Prince ended when the pair disagreed on her career direction. Apollonia 6, the group she was part of had a split. She then appeared in a couple of films that were minor in the 1980s (reportedly refusing an opportunity to play in the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon) and then settled on acting in a role at night for the dramatic Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia was finally able to make her debut album available in the year 1988. Unfortunately, it did not leave an lasting impression on music lovers and was soon obliterated from the spotlight. Throughout the decade that followed her career was a full-time actress, playing minor roles in films and a few TV series. Apollonia's album "Stay With Me" was released in 1997. After going back to college and obtaining an award for filmmaking, she formed her production business. Apollonia holds a number of jobs. She's been a model, singer-actress and the talent manager. Her most well-known role is an actress who played the character in the film Purple Rain from 1984. Also, Kotero has appeared on TV shows and in movies like Black Magic Woman.
